We got a pair of these grates/vents in japaned finish over metal from a salvage in a building in Mid Town NYC years ago. I kept them for quite a while as display shelves. I think they could be great indoor or outdoor utility shelves or side tables. We added two slabs of beautiful European stone as the tops.
