The world-famous Kaiser Idell wall sconce was designed in the 1930s by designer Christian Dell for the manufacturer Kaiser Idell. Dell was a professor of industrial design and one of the best-known masters at the Weimar Bauhaus. The company Kaiser & Co. Leuchten KG was founded in 1895 by Hermann Kaiser, a silversmith and industrial designer. From 1926 onwards, Christian Dell designed lamps for the Kaiser u lamp factory. Co. a wide range of lamps (more than 500 models) with the idea of creating standardized and interchangeable lamp parts. The Idell lamps (combination of 'Dell' and 'Idea'), designed by the designer Christian Dell, are now considered design classics - a timeless ideal with a simple and clear avant-garde design, beautiful materials and basic functionality.
