It retains its original Mahogany Association, Inc. certification label, issued under penalty contract, guaranteeing that all exposed structural parts and veneered surfaces are constructed of genuine mahogany sourced from the West Indies, Tropical America, and West Africa. Such certification was reserved for higher-grade furniture of the period and reflects an era when material authenticity and craftsmanship were strictly regulated.
