A beautifully detailed late 19th-century Victorian tabletop mirror, featuring an ornate cast frame in original aged finish

Dating to approximately 1880, this mirror is made from spelter (cast zinc alloy) — a material widely used in the Victorian period for highly decorative household objects. The elaborate Rococo-inspired design includes foliate scrollwork, a beaded inner border, architectural crest, and a tripod base with turned feet, giving the piece strong sculptural presence.

The oval mirror tilts within its frame and retains its period character, with natural age to the glass and surface patina consistent with over a century of use. The untouched finish and oxidation at the base confirm authenticity and add to its antique appeal.
