Description
Set of Four Monumental Beaux-Arts Bronze & Copper Wall Sconces, Montreal c. 1920
An exceptional set of four monumental architectural wall sconces removed from a historic Beaux-Arts banking hall in Montreal.
Executed in cast bronze with original molded copper torch-form shades, these impressive fixtures feature classical Greek key ornament, applied foliate mounts, scrolling supports, and decorative finial drops. Their substantial scale and refined craftsmanship reflect the grandeur associated with early twentieth-century financial institutions and civic architecture.
Historic photographs of the banking hall show matching sconces installed throughout the interior, providing remarkable provenance and preserving their connection to one of Montreal's distinguished commercial buildings. Original installation markings remain visible on the reverse, further supporting their architectural origins.
The warm patina of the bronze and copper surfaces, combined with the dramatic torch-form silhouette, creates a commanding presence suitable for grand residential, hospitality, or commercial interiors.
A rare opportunity to acquire an intact set of architectural lighting from an important Beaux-Arts building.
