A rare and authentic set of six signed bentwood café chairs by J. & J. Kohn of Vienna, dating to the turn of the 20th century.

Founded in 1849, J. & J. Kohn was one of the most important Austrian bentwood manufacturers of the late 19th century and a direct competitor to Thonet before merging in 1914. Their furniture defined the café culture of Vienna and Central Europe.

This matched set features classic steam-bent beech construction with elegant curved rear supports, circular stretcher rings, and embossed laurel wreath detailing to both the backrest and seats. The surface shows honest age-appropriate wear, retaining a beautiful original patina that speaks to over a century of use.

Structurally solid and highly usable, these chairs bring authentic Viennese café character into contemporary interiors.
