Description

Large vintage hand-knotted Turkmen carpet measuring approximately 9’ x 11’. The carpet features the traditional repeating octagonal gul pattern associated with Tekke weaving, set against a deep red field with multiple geometric borders.

The ends feature contrasting geometric elem panels incorporating diamond and hooked motifs. The palette consists primarily of deep red, burgundy, black, ivory and warm tan tones.

The carpet shows considerable age and use, including areas of pile wear and loss visible throughout the field. These areas have been left as found and contribute to the carpet’s aged appearance. Please review photographs carefully for condition.
