Description

A rare set of three Pittsburgh Permaflector wall sconces in an unusually large shade size, fitted with brass arms and round wall plates. The ribbed, silvered glass shades direct a warm light, and their adjustable joints allow each shade to be positioned. One retains its Pittsburgh Reflector Co. label.

The glass and fittings show age and wear consistent with use. 

These smaller Pittsburgh Permaflector shades are a rare find as a matching set of three. The glass is especially remarkable to have survived intact. Their silvered interiors reflect the bulb’s light through the ribbed glass, creating a beautiful, soft glow.

Pittsburgh Reflector Co. was based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and produced lighting reflectors under the Permaflector name. Company catalogs date to the 1920s, and records show it was still in business in 1971—a documented span of at least 50 years. Its silvered glass shades were designed to reflect and direct light, giving these sconces their distinctive soft glow.
