Description

Sold as a pair.

A substantial pair of solid wood architectural columns dating to circa 1910. Smooth round shafts rise from moulded circular bases to simple classical capitals with square tops. Their restrained proportions and worn white painted finish give them a strong architectural presence.

The painted surfaces retain the marks of age and previous use, with exposed wood, chips, cracks and losses adding texture throughout. Well suited to framing an interior passage, defining a retail or hospitality space, or incorporating into a custom architectural installation.

Found in Portland.
