Rare Monumental antique Italian wine cask dating to circa 1900.

Standing approximately 5 feet tall, the cask is constructed from heavy wood staves secured by numerous iron bands. The large circular end retains traces of old red-painted finish around the perimeter along with its original lower tap or spigot opening.

The wood and iron retain a heavily aged, untouched surface with staining, wear, oxidation and variations developed through generations of use.

Originally made for the storage and dispensing of wine, its unusually large scale makes it an impressive piece of early Italian winery equipment and a strong architectural or decorative object.

Ideal for a wine cellar, restaurant, winery, bar or large interior.
