This vintage 1950s black gooseneck desk lamp is a compact example of early post-war industrial design, featuring a glossy Bakelite base, chrome flexible neck, and tapered phenolic shade with its original translucent diffuser ring. Built for use in offices, workshops, and drafting rooms, it offers a focused, directional light and a footprint small enough for any desk or bedside.

The lamp is attributed to Eagle Electric of Long Island City, New York, one of America’s most prolific electrical manufacturers of the mid-20th century. Founded in 1920, Eagle quickly became known for producing durable switches, plugs, sockets, and a growing range of small task lamps.
