Description
Price for the pair.
A striking pair of early 19th-century Empire armchairs featuring carved caryatid-form supports with Egyptian Revival influence. Sourced from an Odd Fellows Lodge in Indiana, the chairs retain their original ebonized finish with beautifully worn parcel gilt highlights.
The sculptural frames exhibit authentic age and patina throughout, with elegant proportions and strong architectural presence. Later upholstery remains in place, while the original frames are sound and well-preserved.
An exceptional statement for both traditional and contemporary interiors—equally suited as standalone accent seating or in a designed grouping.
