An early 20th century adjustable industrial desk lamp by Faries Manufacturing Company, Decatur, Illinois, circa 1910–1925.

Stamped “FARIES MFG CO – PATENTED,” this example retains its original domed metal shade, articulated pivot hardware, and heavy stepped brass base. The slender vertical stem and mechanical adjustment joint reflect the practical, machine-age design sensibility that defined early American industrial lighting.

The surface shows a rich, untouched patina consistent with age, with natural oxidation to the brass and honest wear throughout. The vented socket housing and original hardware details reinforce its authenticity.
