An exceptional crystal chandelier by Schonbek, from the firm’s celebrated Trilliane collection.

One of Schonbek’s most dramatic designs, the Trilliane series is distinguished by its extraordinarily dense crystal construction and distinctive crown-like tiers of large faceted crystal pendeloques. The chandelier builds upward through multiple graduated crystal tiers, creating an almost architectural silhouette above the broad lower basket.

The fixture is extensively dressed in precision-cut clear crystal, producing exceptional brilliance and prismatic colour when illuminated. A polished silver-tone metal framework largely disappears behind the crystal, giving the chandelier the appearance of being constructed almost entirely from crystal.

Schonbek traces its chandelier-making heritage to Bohemia in 1870 and remains particularly known for elaborate European-inspired crystal lighting.

Adolph Schonbek founded the company in Bohemia in 1870. The family later relocated the business to Montreal, Canada, and then moved to Plattsburgh in 1972, where production continued.
