Description
An extraordinary monumental Beaux-Arts architectural chandelier dating to the early twentieth century, originally salvaged from a historic Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge. Measuring an impressive 60 inches (5 feet) in diameter, this exceptional fixture exemplifies the grandeur and craftsmanship found in North America’s finest civic and fraternal buildings during the Golden Age of Architecture.
The chandelier features a richly ornamented gilt composition body with elegant acanthus leaf decoration, brass structural framework, decorative suspension rods, and its original segmented opaline glass diffuser. A finely cast acorn finial anchors the underside, while the deeply sculpted classical ornament reflects the influence of Beaux-Arts and Neoclassical design popular between 1905 and 1920.
Originally illuminating a grand ceremonial hall, this chandelier possesses the scale and presence rarely encountered today. Monumental architectural fixtures of this size were custom commissioned for important public interiors and seldom survive, particularly as matching examples with documented provenance.
Professionally restored and rewired for modern use while preserving its historic integrity, this chandelier is ideally suited for luxury residences, boutique hotels, wineries, restaurants, clubs, theatres, universities, or significant restoration projects.
We acquired four matching chandeliers from the same historic Odd Fellows Lodge. Complete architectural sets of this scale are exceptionally rare and present a unique opportunity for designers seeking cohesive lighting for grand interiors.
A remarkable survivor of the Beaux-Arts era offering outstanding architectural presence and historical significance.
