The John Labatt Brewery was founded by

John Kinder Labatt in London, Ontario, in 1847, growing from a local business to a major Canadian company. It expanded its operations across Canada and into the U.S. by the late 19th century, weathering Prohibition to play a key role in making beer a Canadian cultural staple. The company became publicly traded after World War II and was eventually acquired by Interbrew (now AB InBev) in 1995.
