An adjustable Ritter dental examination light with a long articulated arm, black metal shade, vented housing, and hinged front shield. Originally designed to direct light precisely over a dental chair, it now makes a striking task light for a desk, workshop, or studio.

The arm and lamp head can be positioned to suit the space. The finish shows wear consistent with age and use. Photographed illuminated.

Ritter began making dental equipment in 1887, founded by Frank Ritter in New York. The historic Ritter Dental Manufacturing Company was based in Rochester, New York. The original company later became part of Sybron, but the Ritter name is still used for dental equipment today.
