Description

Decorative antique gilt-brass wall mirror and three-light candle sconce, dating to approximately 1900–1920.

The pierced Rococo Revival frame is richly decorated with scrolling foliage and centered by a sculptural Bacchic or satyr mask above the mirror. Three projecting candle cups are suspended below, each finished with faceted crystal drops and elongated cut-glass prisms.

The original-style beveled mirror plate shows considerable silvering loss, spotting and oxidation, giving the piece a particularly attractive aged appearance.

A highly decorative small-scale wall piece combining a mirror, candlelight and crystal ornamentation. Suitable for an entry, powder room, bedroom or as part of a collection of antique mirrors.
