A sculptural fragment of glazed architectural terra cotta salvaged from an early 20th century Chicago building façade.
Dating to the period between 1900 and 1925, this ornamental element features a stylized fleur-de-lis motif executed in high relief and finished in a classic white architectural glaze. Pieces such as this were produced by major Chicago terra cotta manufacturers and used extensively on commercial buildings, banks, and theaters throughout the city during the height of the Chicago School architectural movement.
