The company advertised this system in the early twentieth century as a means of reducing glare by directing light toward the ceiling. Period designs incorporated silvered glass reflectors concealed within decorative metal or glass bowls. These fixtures appear to retain their outer brass bowls without the internal glass reflectors; an exact catalogue model has not been confirmed.

found in Chicago

https://www.scottlandonantiques.com/products/antique-brass-bowl-uplight-pendants-attributed-to-national-x-ray-reflector-co-c-1910-1920
