The restrained form is characteristic of Quebec country furniture from the first half of the 19th century.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMost notable is the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eexceptional old painted surface\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, retaining extensive age cracking, wear and exposed areas developed through nearly two centuries of use. We would leave this surface completely untouched.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOriginal-style iron hardware and the substantial pine construction further contribute to its early character.
